Specialized begun S-Works to meet the needs of professional riders. Historically what riders raced was a stripped back, limit-pushing version of a product that merely resembled what you could purchase. These bikes were built to be fastest to the finish line, so trade-offs were made in comfort, longevity, and required a professional mechanic or service course. Today, after four decades of investing and innovating to meet the needs of the most demanding riders, any gap between ‘fastest’ and ‘best’ has been erased.
